We thought you might like a few handy hints to help make your holiday as stress free and enjoyable as possible because resorts in February are very busy.
Getting to your BASS Morzine Lessons
The meeting instructions for your lessons will be sent to you by email a few days before the first session. Make sure you know the name of the instructor that you are looking for so you can find them easily.
The BASS Morzine meeting point is at the TOP of the Pleney gondola, turn right and look for the meeting point sign past the café terrace.
The gondola opens at 08.30 and only takes a few minutes but there will be queues so aim to get there early. You can always pop into the café at the top if you are a few minutes early where you’ll find toilets and a picnic room as well as the bar and self-service restaurant.
Alternatively, competent skiers can use the La Crusaz chairlift, which starts near the base of the gondola. Don’t get off at the halfway stage and lift up your poles so they don’t get damaged as you pass through.
From the top of the chair you have about 50m to ski to the Mouilles chairlift, which brings you to the top of Pleney. The overall journey takes roughly 20 minutes and it opens at 08.45.
What if You’re Running Late?
Don’t worry, we’re not like Easyjet with an ‘if you’re late, we won’t wait’ policy. We understand it can be tricky getting organised, especially on the first day.
However, if you are joining a group lesson, we will have other skiers, itching to get started.
So, if you think you are running late, call the BASS office, [0033 (0)450 747859], and we will make sure the teachers know that you are on your way.
If you’ve not arrived on time, the teacher may take the group for a short warm up run but will then pass by the meeting point to collect you. Please be patient as this could take a few minutes.
End of Lessons
For parents with children skiing with BASS, we think it’s really important for us to tell you about what they have been learning, what to practice and generally update you about your child’s progress. The junior groups will be at the meeting point 5 minutes before the lesson end time for us to be able to do this.
It’s also very reassuring for children to see their Mum or Dad waiting for them at the end of their lesson.
Again, if you are running late, please let the BASS office know so that we can reassure your children.
And finally, here’s a link to the Morzine ski area map, which will be helpful if you’ve not visited the area before.
Safe travels and we look forward to seeing you soon.
