BOOKING CONDITIONS 2025
General Terms
BASS Morzine is comprised of two sections. BASS Morzine Ltd (4974349), delivers BASI courses, Professional Ski Instructor Training and UK based Courses. BASS Syndicate (SIREN – 485055297), delivers ski school products in Europe and Worldwide. You are contracted to the company / entity which delivers the product type purchased.
These booking conditions apply to bookings with BASS Morzine Ltd & BASS Syndicate. By making a booking with BASS Morzine, you agree to the terms and conditions listed here.
“We”, “us”, “BASS Morzine” and similar references below refer to one of the above companies.
“You”, “client” and similar references refer to the booking contact and all session participants.
“Ski School” refers to all products not named BASI or Pro.
“Pro” refers to all products including the name Pro.
“BASI” refers to all products including the name BASI.
Payment
We accept payment by credit card (VISA OR MASTERCARD), debit card and bank transfer.
Considerations
The programme of session times, venues etc. is set at the beginning of each week and are subject to change at any time.
Clients should present themselves in a fit and safe condition for physical activity in the mountain environment. The teacher/trainer/coach will use professional judgement to select activities suitable to the local conditions and client ability.
Sessions may include off-piste skiing for which, you must have adequate insurance for activities outside the marked ski area. Avalanche safety equipment may be required and may be provided or rented from local suppliers. We reserve the right to change course programmes for safety reasons.
BASS Morzine reserves the right to remove you from sessions with no refund if:
Your behaviour is deemed to be inappropriate, unsafe or detrimental to BASS Morzine.
You are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Course places are not transferable from one client to another.
BASS Morzine reserves the right to cancel any course or lesson whether confirmed or unconfirmed in extraordinary circumstances. In this case, all course fees will be refunded in full. No compensation will be paid for any other expenses incurred.
Cancellation by the client must be made in writing to BASS Morzine. Email is accepted.
Photography
Photos and video taken during sessions may be used on BASS Morzine & Pro Training websites, newsletters, social media for marketing purposes plus instructor training.
You must inform us if you do not want your image to be used.
Complaints
If, at any time during your course, you have cause for complaint, you must let us know immediately and we will endeavor to address the situation, to your satisfaction.
BASS Syndicate Mediation
In the event of a dispute with BASS Syndicate under French Law that the client feels has not been resolved, you are entitled to send an official letter by registered post outlining your grievance, and in the absence of a satisfactory response or, in the absence of a response within 60 days, the client can refer the matter to the Mediator, whose details are available on the website: www.sasmediationsolution-conso.fr
Law and Jurisdiction
All contracts in Sterling currency are with BASS Morzine Ltd and are governed by English law and dealt with in English language.
All contracts in Euro currency are with BASS Syndicate and are governed by French Law and delt with in French language.
SKI SCHOOL SPECIFIC CONDITIONS
Proposals may be held for up to 3 days from the issue date.
We reserve the right to set a deposit amount required to confirm.
No contract will exist until a receipt has been issued.
Fees must be paid in full before the course start date.
Our group course lessons accept a maximum of 4 people and require a minimum of 3 to run for the specified duration.
Personal Development Camps accept a maximum of 4 people and require a minimum of 3 to run for the specified duration.
Please note that with fewer numbers we may run courses for a reduced time or offer conversion to private lessons or offer a full refund.
As the week progresses, we may move people between groups for safety or to create the optimum learning environment for each individual. In this rare occurrence, group sizes may surpass the maximum number from 4 skiers to 5 skiers.

Insurance
BASS Morzine does not insure clients. You are obliged to insure yourself for third party liability, personal medical and mountain rescue.
We recommend adding cancellation cover for Covid-19 related events (that are not covered in our Covid-19 section), in addition to general holiday insurance, that includes lesson fees.
BASS Morzine will not be liable for any additional costs incurred beyond lesson fees
SKI SCHOOL CANCELLATION POLICY
Ski School Standard
In the event of you cancelling your booking, in whole or in part, the following charges apply:
More than 42 days notice - 20% of fee
41 to 15 days notice - 50% of fee
14 to 8 days notice - 80% of fee
7 or less days notice - 100% of fee
No refund will be given by BASS Morzine, in whole or in part, for unused lessons due to client late arrival, illness, accident, resort closure due to weather conditions or mechanical failure, or for any other cause outside the control of BASS Morzine, unless explicitly covered within the COVID-19 cancellation policy below.
Ski School Force Majeure – not linked to COVID-19
In no event shall BASS Morzine be held responsible or liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations where it was legally and/or physically impossible for the lessons to be performed, such as an event covered by the term ‘Act of God’ (e.g. severe weather, volcano eruption, earthquake) or events such as war, epidemic, pandemic, disease control measures implemented by the resort, government intervention (including executive orders, refusal of licence to operate for political reasons, travel restrictions), strike, criminal and/or tortious conduct on your part or any other event beyond the control of the supplier (a “Force Majeure Event”).
BASS Morzine shall notify the other party as soon as is practicable following commencement of a Force Majeure Event.
Ski School COVID-19
Should you cancel your booking, in whole or in part, or lessons cannot be delivered for any of the following COVID-19 causes, we will refund all unused lessons, less a 20% booking charge:
The ski infrastructure is closed by the French Government or local authorities.
The border into France, from your country of residence, is closed.
The border out of your country of residence is closed.
Quarantine of more than 7 days is imposed by France.
You must comply with all current local and national safety protocols.
The Ski School Standard cancellation policy, (above), applies if you cancel your booking or lessons due to any other COVID-19 related event. See insurance section above.
PRO SPECIFIC CONDITIONS
Payment instructions will only be sent on receipt of completed pro application form.
Proposals may be held for up to 7 days from issue date.
We reserve the right to set a deposit amount required to confirm.
No contract will exist until a receipt has been issued.
Fees must be paid in full before the course start date.
The start date is considered as the first training date of all modules on the affected booking.
Pro courses accept a maximum of 8 people and require a minimum of 5 to run for the specified duration.

In no event shall BASS Morzine be held responsible or liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations where it was legally and/or physically impossible for the lessons to be performed, such as an event covered by the term ‘Act of God’ (e.g. severe weather, volcano eruption, earthquake) or events such as war, epidemic, pandemic, disease control measures implemented by the resort, government intervention (including executive orders, refusal of licence to operate for political reasons, travel restrictions), strike, criminal and/or tortious conduct on your part or any other event beyond the control of the supplier (a “Force Majeure Event”).
BASS Morzine shall notify the other party as soon as is practicable following commencement of a Force Majeure Event.
We will make reasonable efforts, which are consistent with accepted practices within the snowsports industry, to resume performance as soon as and if practicable in the circumstances as they exist at the time.
In the event of a Force Majeure Event, and where we are unable to resume performance in time for the contract to be fulfilled, you will not be entitled to a refund.
Pro COVID-19
In the event that, prior to a confirmed course starting, there is a Covid-19 outbreak which prevents the course from going ahead, or an inbound quarantine on arrival in France, we will offer a full refund less 20% booking charge, or transfer to another course.
In the event that, prior to a confirmed course starting, an inbound quarantine is imposed by the country to which the student is returning after their course or the country referred to in their registered home address, where the course can still be delivered, no refund would be payable.
NOTE: If a Pro course is cancelled for any reason, after it has been confirmed and up to the day before the start date, course fees will be refunded but no additional costs will be refunded.
You are advised not to book a course place if you are not able to accept these conditions.
You must comply with all current local and national safety protocols.
The Pro Standard cancellation policy applies if you cancel your booking or lessons due to any other COVID-19 related event.
BASI SPECIFIC CONDITIONS
BASI course places can only be reserved on receipt of completed BASI booking form and payment of a £150 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit.
Proposals may be held for up to 7 days from the issue date.
No contract will exist until a receipt has been issued.
Full balance is payable 4 weeks before course start date or when the course is confirmed, whichever is later.
If booking within 4 weeks of the course start date, full payment is required.
Courses can only be confirmed once minimum numbers have been reached.
If payments are not made by the due dates, you will be removed from the course and remain liable for the outstanding balance.
Do not pay for travel or any other related arrangements before courses are confirmed. We will not be liable for these costs.
You must fulfil all course prerequisites, as outlined on the BASI website. If you are not fully eligible at the start of the course, you will be removed from the course and not be eligible for any refund.
BASI L1 and L2 accept a maximum of 8 and require a minimum of 6.

Insurance
BASS Morzine does not insure clients. You are obliged to insure yourself for third party liability, personal medical and mountain rescue.
We strongly recommend adding cancellation cover that includes BASI course fees for Covid-19 related events (that are not covered in the BASI Covid-19 section), in addition to general travel insurance.
Insurance for BASI members, from MPI offers COVID-19 cover if the policy holder tests positive. BASI encourage you to use this insurance to recoup non-course fee losses.
BASS Morzine or BASI will not be liable for any additional costs incurred beyond course fees.
BASI CANCELLATION POLICY
BASI Standard
BASI course places cancelled more than 4 full weeks prior to the course start date are eligible to full refund less £150 deposit.
Course places cancelled at, or less than, 4 full weeks prior to the course start date are not eligible for any refund.
No refund will be given by BASS Morzine or BASI, in whole or in part, for unused sessions due to client late arrival, illness, accident, resort closure due to weather conditions or mechanical failure, or for any other cause outside the control of BASS Morzine, unless explicitly covered within the COVID-19 cancellation policy detailed below.
BASI Force Majeure – not linked to COVID-19
In no event shall BASS Morzine or BASI be held responsible or liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations where it was legally and/or physically impossible for the lessons to be performed, such as an event covered by the term ‘Act of God’ (e.g. severe weather, volcano eruption, earthquake) or events such as war, epidemic, pandemic, disease control measures implemented by the resort, government intervention (including executive orders, refusal of licence to operate for political reasons, travel restrictions), strike, criminal and/or tortious conduct on your part or any other event beyond the control of the supplier (a “Force Majeure Event”).
· BASS Morzine shall notify the other party as soon as is practicable following commencement of a Force Majeure Event.

BASI COVID-19
In the event that, prior to a confirmed course starting, there is a Covid-19 outbreak which prevents the course from going ahead, or an inbound quarantine on arrival in France that prevents the course from going ahead, we will offer a full refund or transfer to another course in the same winter season.
In the event that, prior to a confirmed course starting, an inbound quarantine is imposed by the country to which the student is returning after their course or the country referred to in their registered home address, where the course can still be delivered, no refund would be payable.
If a 5-day course is cancelled on, or after, the start date, no refund will be made.
If a 10-day course is cancelled on days:
· 1-4 a 50% refund or credit will be available.
· 6-10 no refund will be made.
Any BASI course that has completed 80% of the content, the result will be delivered, and no refund will be made.
NOTE: If a BASI course is cancelled for any reason, after it has been confirmed and up to the day before the start date, course fees will be refunded but no additional costs will be refunded.
You are advised not to book a course place if you are not able to accept these conditions.

The BASI Standard cancellation policy, (above), will apply if you cancel your BASI course due to any other COVID-19 related event.
