January Snow report from Avoriaz

Hi everyone,

I skied Avoriaz yesterday, Thursday 5th January, in preparation for our Performance Breakthrough clinics, beginning Sunday 8 Jan.

I found that sectors Arare and Fornet were absolutely excellent - they have very good snow coverage and provide very enjoyable skiing. The photo above is a screenshot from the webcam on Fornet, this morning, Friday 6 January, so you can see the current conditions.

I explored further afield, so that you don’t have to - it was a very different story. So we’ll be staying where the snow is good and the skiing is fun - Arare and Fornet.

It looks like we’ll have a very snowy couple of weeks ahead - my favourite weather forecasters are clear about that. ( Meteo ski and Meteo blue)

So please bring weather resistant clothing and spare goggles and gloves.

If it’s snowing, my bright yellow jacket will be concealed under my lime green waterproof jacket, so please don’t be mis directed by that. Still the bright orange helmet.

Here’s a reminder of what that looks like, in the Hokkaido powder.

On the subject of reminders, here’s a map of the location of our Prodains meeting point - your individual meeting sheet will have your time (9:30) and date information.

So, just a couple of days and we’ll be into the heart of the January clinic programme. We’re fortunate that the Avoriaz resort team has spent so much time and effort ensuring we have great conditions to enjoy on Arare and Fornet.

I can’t wait to get started!

Stay well and stay in touch.

Best regards,

Hugh
