Thank you for great skiing in March 2022

Thank you to everyone involved in the March Performance Breakthrough programme!

I’m posting this from the TGV on the way home, reflecting on over 2 weeks of great Spring skiing with wonderful team members.

The image above is characteristic of most of the early morning periods at the BASS meeting point, just before everyone turned up:

  • beautiful, refreshed snow

  • crisp air and blue sky

  • clear views of Mt Chery

  • skis waxed, tuned and ready to go!

Looking ahead to Winter 2023

The January 2023 programme, consisting of

  • one level 1 clinic and

  • three level 2 clinics,

is nearly full already. There are just a few level 2 places left for returning regular skiers. Plus there is a waiting list for the level 1 clinic. Thank you everyone for the enthusiasm - I really appreciate it.

The March 2023 programme will consist of an updated Level 3 clinic in the wilderness around the Mt Blanc Massif. We’ll access the great wilderness via the French and Italian sides and do some short skinning ascents in extra-ordinary environments. There are more details to come on this - I’ll get them to you soon.

In May/June 2023, the Icelandic ski touring and Heliski programme will kick into action.

We already have two teams planning to enjoy the extra-ordinary Arctic spring skiing adventure, so there are many arrangements to make, details to finalise, some physical conditioning to do over the Summer and some ski performance training to do through next winter.

Skiing in the extraordinary Icelandic wilderness on a Performance Breakthrough Heliski adventure. Taking skills to extraordinary places

Stay well and stay in touch.

Best regards,

Hugh
