Joe will be operating in Val D'Isere and Tignes.

He joined the team in 2015, he has many years of teaching experience working with ski schools from USA, Switzerland and France. He grew up in Bournemouth but has made a permanent home for himself and his family in Tignes since 2012. 

I started skiing when I was 4 years old, we went on a family ski trip to Borovets in Bulgaria, it was the first time any of my family skied and everyone loved it straight away, so from then on we went on at least one family trip every year. When I finished Uni I decided to do a winter season and I have been living in the mountains ever since.

My first instructor job was in Verbier Switzerland working with Altitude snow sports school I did a couple of weeks with them in 2004 then was offered a full time position for the following winter season which I very happily accepted I spent the next 3 winters with them while working through my BASI exams. Verbier was a lot of fun especially for someone in there 20’s, lots of big nights out and the skiing was pretty good to. After leaving Verbier I went off to America and then back to Switzerland until finally settling in Tignes France in 2012. I have been working with BASS since 2015, with BASS I get to the opportunity to work with a very wide range of clients from complete beginners all the way up to training instructors which keeps the job very interesting, also working in France gives you the financial stability needed to make ski instructing a proper career allowing you to live and raise a family, whereas in other countries I’ve worked it is treated more like a bit of fun for kids to do in their gap years
