Winter 2022
BASS Performance Breakthrough
I hope you are well, staying active and positive.
I'm making plans for our Performance Breakthrough Clinics for Winter 2022 - assuming that we'll make more progress with vaccinations, travel arrangements and access to skiing.
France introduced limits to group sizes as part of its Covid management for last season.
We don't know yet what the rules will be for next season re. the maximum group size. It's likely to be 5, so I'll proceed on that basis.
There's a lot of pent up demand for the clinics - thank you all for that. I'm raring to go, too.
So, there's pent up demand and reduced capacity, plus significantly increased business expenses for Brits working in France post Brexit - something's got to give.
Don't worry, I have it covered.
There's a very effective clinic structure that we used for many years - alternate days!
We train together on day 1. You go off applying, consolidating and exploring for the next day, then return for another full day's training. And so on through the week, for a total of 3 training days interspersed with practice days.
The 3-day alternate day structure gives you time to use and develop the new techniques between sessions, enhancing your development.
This mixture of training and practice is very effective, and the process has yielded excellent results.
The structure gives you more flexibility, too - if you want to head off to Switzerland, for example.
And it lets me work with a second team on their own alternate day structure, which interleaves with the first.
So more of our people can make progress with their skiing while enjoying being with like-minded enthusiasts.
I'll be running
two weeks of clinics in January: one level 1, two-level 2, one level 2+ with off-piste in mind,
one week of clinics in March: one level 1 and one level 2,
Iceland heliskiing in late May / early June
Iām looking forward to getting back onto the snow, in the magnificent mountain environment and to skiing with you all again.
Best regards,
Hugh
