Covid regulations for Winter 2022
Covid regulations for Winter 2022
Hi everyone, I hope you are well, staying active and positive.
I know that you’ll stay current with the changing travel regulations for the coming season.
This post is about what we have to do on the mountain.
France is applying the Health Pass to ski lifts, as with restaurants etc. I suggest using the Tousanticovid app and scanning your NHS app Covid Pass into it. Your scan ready NHS covid pass will work, too.
Plus, actual Gendarmes with actual guns, will check that everyone in all ski lessons has been checked by the instructor and is correctly vaccinated.
Instructors are required to use the Tous Anti Covid Verif app to allow clients into the lesson.
So,
Please make sure that you are double vaccinated, and have your booster, if applicable, and that your NHS app covid pass is up to date.
That is by far the safest thing for everyone, and the easiest solution logistically. This is the solution that is expected by everyone.
There is another solution - though it will be time consuming , difficult and exposed to the risk of failure.
The Tous Anti Covid Verif app, used by instructors and lift personnel, will also accept a daily negative covid test. These are French tests, available at Pharmacies and Test centres, NOT the UK lateral flow test.
There will be queues and delays at the pharmacies and test centres each morning, plus the test may take half an hour or so to process, once you have taken it. The test generates a certificate and a clear certificate would be required for access to lessons, the ski lifts and restaurants. A new test every day.
That isn’t really a pragmatic solution, so,
Please make sure that you are double vaccinated, and have your booster, if applicable, and that your NHS app covid pass is up to date.
Thanks for your understanding.
We’re all going to have to apply ourselves diligently to make this work, but we will have a fantastic time skiing.
Best regards,
Hugh
